Roots & Reins Equine-Assisted Mental Health and Learning

Welcome to Roots and Reins, a unique equine-assisted mental health and learning program where discovery, healing, and growth happens through equine connection.

About Us

Founded by Lauren Beaudreau, MA, Roots and Reins was created from a passion for horses and a deep belief in their ability to help people heal, grow, and reconnect.

At Roots and Reins, growth is grounded in compassion, guided by the wisdom of horses, and rooted in the belief that healing happens through authentic connection

Meet our Team

Lauren Beaudreau, MA, founder and Director of the Equine-Assisted Learning Program has spent 15 years in the mental health field with a focus on crisis work and helping teens and adults with trauma. Lauren’s passion for horses has led to stepping away from a clinical role and offering an experiential approach where clients can engage with equines while developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection. Lauren’s focus is working with children and teens who want to improve self-confidence, practice coping skills in real time, and work on communication and connection.

Roots and Reins is proud to partner with Julia Franklin, LMHC, who will provide equine-assisted therapy sessions to teens and adults while offering interaction and hands-on experiences with horses. Julia’s strong clinical experience includes supporting those with anxiety, depression, and substance misuse, as well as Veterans and their family members. Julia will provide both individual and family therapy sessions.
